Photo Club Trip to Belgian Nurseries

Tulip...Beauty right to the end

Today the Photography Club took a trip to Belgian Nurseries.  We had a wonderful time taking macro shots of beautiful flowers and exotic plants.
These are few of the many photos I took.  I added the tulip photo to show that even though flowers are beautiful while they are fresh, they can also have real beauty as they finish blooming and begin to dry up.
Here's hoping some of the other members of the club post some photos as well.

Learn To Use Your DSLR Camera

As I was looking at different things on the net this morning I came across this amazing (and very easy to understand) DSLR tutorial on Kevin & Amanda's blog.  If you have your camera set to AUTO this tutorial will help you learn more about your camera and why you should take it off AUTO and experiment with other settings.
This blog also has other great photography tutorials and tips....just go to their labels and scroll down to the photography section.  It is well worth your time to check this out.
Happy shooting.

Ice Storm Beauty

Ice Storms can be devastating, but the results of an ice storm can also bring some interest to things that are no longer interesting.  In my garden I have the skeleton of silver dollar plants and at this time of year they are ugly.  The storm that we had on Friday covered these dead plants with ice beads and, as a result, gave them new beauty.
